The 3rd Annual Journal Jog is set for Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Black River Landing, the same place where the International Festival is held.

The event features a 5K run, starting at 9 a.m. and a 3K walk that steps off at 9:05 a.m. Runners will trot along Broadway and W. Erie Avenue to scenic Lakeview Park and back.

By participating, you can have fun, win prizes and, best of all, help local kids, because entry fees from the Journal Jog go to support the Mary Lee Tucker Clothe-a-Child charity which provides warm winter clothing for needy school age children, as well as the Newspapers In Education program which puts newspapers in classrooms in service of learning, and Lorain Mayor Chase Ritenauer’s Scholarship Fund for Lorain City Schools
